This event is a connectional opportunity for men to gather for this festive traditional event to enjoy fellowship, seasonal music, a shared meal, and hear an inspiring talk by the Rev. Dr. Brian Craker on the topic: “Walking in Joseph’s Sandals: Advent’s Man of Faith.”

Have you ever wondered what the Advent experience must have been like for Joseph as a man, a husband, and a father? Join us as Brian takes us on a storytelling journey using biblical, historical, and cultural sources to help us walk in Joseph's shoes. It is a fascinating story of twists and turns with imagery that is often missed in the Christmas story. While we unlock some mysteries behind this humble man of faith from Bethlehem, we will also explore some of the ways God still works behind the scenes in our lives today.

The Rev. Dr. Brian Craker has been involved in church ministry for over 30 years and served on staff at LGPC multiple times between 1996-2008. Brian served as an Interim/Transitional pastor for the last 16 years before stepping into his current role as the Transitional Executive Presbyter for the Presbytery of the Cascades. His love for the Pacific Northwest kept him close by for his seminary and Doctor of Ministry degrees at George Fox University, where his love of biblical culture and history intertwined with his gift for storytelling. His ability to share biblical narratives and truths from unique perspectives has been a special blessing for many churches. Brian met his wife Alison at LGPC in 1995, and they are blessed with two “miracle” sons, Tyler (16) and Casey (13). His family continues to be heavily involved in the ministry and mission of our church. In his downtime, Brian enjoys traveling, hanging out with his boys, and smoking delicious meals on his Traeger.
