WHAT IS STEWARDSHIP?

Financial giving is a tangible expression of your faith and commitment to our congregation. As we celebrate the past 100 years and Embrace the Future, we continue to have ambitions that need your faithful support.  Your giving is a profound expression of your trust in God and your commitment to sharing the love of Christ through this gathered body.

Please prayerfully consider your giving ahead of Pledge Dedication Sunday on October 27.

Lake Grove Kids

Our goal at LGK is simple, and it is to help kids discover they are loved by Jesus and that they have a place in God’s story. Your giving supports children's discipleship curriculum materials, training, programming, family ministries, and library support.

Lake Grove Youth

Our Lake Grove Youth is a place where every student is invited to experience the love and welcome of Jesus. Your giving supports youth discipleship curriculum materials, training, programming, family ministries, and library support.

Adult Discipleship

For adults, we offer many opportunities to learn, grow, and connect through Men’s and Women’s Bible studies, adult education classes, and small groups. Your giving supports adult discipleship curriculum materials, training, programming, family ministries, and library support.

Noah's Ark Preschool

Noah’s Ark preschool provides exceptional early childhood education to children ages two to five. The program includes extended care and summer camps. Monthly chapel time for the students, their families, and teachers includes singing, story, and prayer. Noah’s Ark is a self-funding program.

Missions

Our Missions ministry actively supports evangelistic efforts to reach unbelieving people and people groups in our church, community, region, nation, and world with the gospel of Jesus Christ in a culturally sensitive way. We help provide Food, Water, and Shelter in the name of Christ to the poor, marginalized, and dispossessed. Lake Grove supports 12 local and 5 international mission organizations. At least 10% of your budgetary giving supports our mission partners. Your giving allows us to send relief to war-torn areas and to victims of flooding. In addition, Lake Grove supports special offerings throughout the year. In the past 12 months, we have collected $34,098 in support of these offerings.

Congregational Care

At Lake Grove, our Care Ministry is a community committed to extending Christ’s love through care and compassion. Whether it’s delivering a meal, offering a prayer, supporting someone in grief, or celebrating a new beginning, we offer support that reaches far beyond Sunday mornings, ensuring no one walks alone. This vital ministry is made possible through the faithful coordination of our Care Team, working hand-in-hand with Deacons, Stephen Ministers, and dedicated volunteers. Your giving helps fund our kitchen supplies and food, fellowship activities, grief support materials, and Deacons and Stephen Ministry Support.

Worship & Music

Music Ministry provides children, youth, and adults with significant opportunities for spiritual growth. Through traditional hymns, contemporary songs, and special worship music, we create space for the entire congregation to participate in praise and prayer. Your giving supports instrument maintenance, music licensing fees, music purchasing, musician stipends, and equipment maintenance needed to create inspiring worship experiences.

Building & Grounds

Our Property Ministry maintains and enhances our physical spaces to welcome all who enter our doors. Through regular maintenance and safety improvements, we ensure our building serves as a true sanctuary for worship, learning, and fellowship. Our Property team works with contractors, volunteers, and staff to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional for our diverse programming needs. Your giving funds building maintenance, janitorial services, utilities, insurance, landscaping, equipment maintenance, and cleaning supplies. We’ve seen a continued rise in costs related to insurance, utilities, and property maintenance. We have projected additional funds to address these needs in the upcoming year.

Administrative, Technology & Communication Ministry

Our Administration ministry provides essential operational support that enables all other ministries to flourish effectively. Through bookkeeping, insurance management, staff support, technology maintenance, and communication coordination, we create the foundation that allows our church to focus on ministry rather than administrative burdens. Your giving funds IT support, technology upgrades, accounting services, bank fees, per capita fees, communication tools, and office supplies.

MISSION PARTNER SUPPORT

What Does Stewardship Look Like?

Our 2025 giving target is $2.8 million. Since 2018, inflation has been 25%. Our 2025 giving target is 7% less than 2020’s inflation-adjusted giving.

While our average pledge has increased, we are below inflation-adjusted levels. Also, fewer individuals and families are making annual pledges. Pledging is important as it helps us plan and finalize our budget. We are also sharing a breakdown of the range of pledges we receive.

As we build our vision of the future, we need your continued support. Your Finance Team and Session have prepared a preliminary budget that will meet the expenses of our ministry efforts and planning for the arrival of new pastoral leadership. The Stewardship Team is also challenging us to step up more significantly to dream some bigger dreams about our life together in 2025.

We invite you to join church leadership in prayerfully considering how God is inviting you to participate in the ministry and mission of your church and how you might respond generously to the request for financial support.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Stewardship justified biblically?

We give because all that we have—time, money, talents—comes from God. Scripture teaches us that one way we thank God is by returning a generous portion of those gifts back to him.  When you give, it enables us to do the work of partnering with Christ who transforms the world one life at a time.

“God loves a cheerful giver…he takes no delight in a gift given out of guilt or pressure. God wants giving that comes from a heart of gladness and gratitude”.

~2 Corinthians

How will my giving efforts benefit the church?

Music, Missions, Discipleship, and Congregational Care Ministry programs need meaningful support to continue to thrive and grow into the next 100 years, serving our congregation, our community, and our world.

Our staff has not had raises in three years, during a time of increased inflation. Your giving enables these increases.
