Emily Stecher
Program Assistant for Elementary Ministries
Emily began worshipping at LGPC with her husband Dave and daughter Ali in 2022, connecting particularly with the LGK ministry. They joined the congregation as new members in 2024.
While Emily's hometown is Memphis, Tennessee, she spent many years in Durham, North Carolina obtaining her B.A. in Religion from Duke University and her Master of Divinity with a Concentration in Christian Education from Duke Divinity School. She has spent the past decade in the Pacific Northwest serving churches in Seattle and Portland, primarily working with children, youth, and families. Most recently, she served as the Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Portland before taking time to be home with her daughter Ali.
Emily enjoys rock climbing and hiking, listening to audiobooks while puzzling, cuddling with their family's two miniature dachshunds, and volunteering at her daughter's school, particularly with the adorable library class!
She is very excited to get to know the LGK families better and to support the amazing LGK staff and volunteer team through the Program Assistant for Elementary Ministries role this year, including providing coverage during Corinne's upcoming parental leave.
