Practicing Prayer
Deepening our Connection with God
During Lent and Beyond

During the forty days of Lent, we prepare for our celebration of Easter by turning once again to our Savior and reflecting on Jesus’ sacrifices for us and for our salvation. Our theme for Lent this year is Practicing Prayer.  The focus of our Reservoir devotional for March and April is, “The Prayer-Filled Life.” During Lent, you are invited to explore three ways of practicing prayer.

Practicing Prayer Devotional - Praying with Scripture
We are providing a daily devotional in print or online that, beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 17, introduces us to the prayer practice of praying with Scripture as a way of discerning what God is calling us to be and to do during this season. Printed copies of this daily devotional will be available at the Ash Wednesday Drive-Thru or click the image below to download your copy.

Practicing Prayer Stations
Beginning Sunday, February 21 and through the season of Lent, you, your family, or your small group are invited to the gravel parking lot at church to engage with a series of interactive prayer stations. Participants will engage in a number of prayer practices as they make their way through the walk-thru prayer stations. The prayer stations are available throughout Lent and are appropriate for all ages.

Practicing Prayer with Rev. Michelle Olson
Every Friday during Lent (February 19-March 26), we will offer videos and teaching materials on our website and YouTube channel featuring our good friend, Rev. Michelle Olson, who will introduce us each week to time-honored prayer practices such as, breath prayers, examen, Lectio Divina, Visio Divina, a prayer of rest and silence, and praying the hours. These videos will remain available throughout Lent. Why not try a new prayer practice during Lent?
