The Sanctuary Choir, directed by Wendy Bamonte, is an all-volunteer,
all-are-welcome chorus of approximately 90 singers. Members come
with a range of experience and expertise but all share a great love for
music and a heart for service and ministry. Listen here.
The choir rehearses Thursday evenings and provides musical
leadership at two services each Sunday. They also participate in
special music services and concerts throughout the year.
The Sanctuary Choir is devoted to mission outreach, including many
benefit concerts for our African church partners in Zambia and
Senegal. The funds generated from these concerts have helped drill
water wells, build schools, and provide food in areas affected by
drought and crop failure.
The choir has been on two mission trips: in 2005 the choir presented
sacred choral concerts in Italy, France, and Austria and in 2014 the
choir shared the Gospel through music in France, Belgium and the
Netherlands. In addition to these mission trips, this choir was the
only church choir from the Northwest chosen to perform at the 2010
regional American Choral Directors Association in Seattle. The choir
enjoys singing a wide variety of musical styles including gospel and
spirituals, as well as larger sacred works such as Bach’s Magnificat
and Cantata 121, Vivaldi's Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Rutter’s
Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Hummel’s Mass and Esenvald’s Trinity
No matter the style, the Sanctuary Choir's singing is always steeped in excellence and always to the Glory of God!

The organ at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church was originally installed in 1975 by Balcom and Vaughan Pipe Organs, Inc. It remained largely unchanged until the sanctuary was remodeled in 2008, and Bond Organ Builders, Inc. was contracted to help the organ fit into the newly designed space. The result was a reconfiguration and enlargement of the existing stoplist, a number of new pipes, and the visually striking façade that greets parishioners as they enter the sanctuary.
The latest improvements to the instrument - a new console and solo tuba stop - were completed in March of 2017. The existing 1975 console was left largely unchanged during the 2008 remodel, and it was beginning to show its age. Additionally, its placement in a “pit” on the pulpit side of the chancel made for difficult sightlines to the director. The new console, designed and built by Bond Organ Builders, Inc., resolves these issues. It is moveable, and can be positioned anywhere on the chancel that seems appropriate for a given Sunday, adding more flexibility to our worship space. Keyboards and stopknobs were chosen for their reliability, and arranged so that everything is within easy reach of the organist. In addition, the 61 new tuba pipes join forces with the 1,579 already in use, and lend a powerful new solo voice to the organ’s color palette.
Joy Choir (Ages 4 - Grade 1) - This first musical experience is a fun way to learn basic musical skills and to praise God. Group sings for Sunday worship when ready, a few times a year.
Wednesday 4 – 4:45 pm, Hub room
(Grades 2 - 5) - Hope Choir is about the discovery of praise and worship through music. While the emphasis is on fun (and yes, there will be fun), a continued development of musical and singing skills, early exposure to music literacy, and an increasing knowledge of Worship will be a major part of each rehearsal. The choir is open for all kids grades 2-5 who want to sing and have a good time doing it! They sing for worship monthly and on special occasions, with larger presentations during Christmas and spring.
Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 4- 5 pm.
(Grades 6 - 12) – Peace Choir is a place for our youth to worship in a choral setting. Whether it be a sacred classic or an upbeat gospel piece, the choir will strive for deep understanding of the text, continual growth in understanding of the music, and overall excellence. That being said, Peace Choir is open to anyone and everyone who is interested (Yes, even you!). The choir sings for worship monthly and on special occasions, with larger presentations during Christmas and spring.
Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 12:15-1:15 PM.
